Saint Vincent de Paul

Saint Vincent DePaul Church in Leisenring was erected in 1888. The church was founded to care for the needs of the many Irish, and a few German families, who mined and worked the coke ovens, so numerous in the area. Now, howerver as in most churches of the area, the parishonoers are composed of many different nationalities.

In 1976, there were 167 families at the parish. At that time the church remained on its original site, however a new social hall was built in 1961 to replace the old Frick Hall destroyed by Fire in 1960.

The parish at one time averaged 135 pupils in religious education who attended public school and they were part of Conn-Area Catholic and Geibel Catholic High Schools.

The Church closed ath the End of 2008.
